Every young person deserves the chance to rise.
We empower Western-Sydney youth to overcome their toughest challenges and build brighter futures through mentoring, wellbeing and leadership programs
Our Impact at a Glance
While Australia spends $1.12 million per year to imprison one child, Ready 2 Change helps young people transform their lives for a fraction of the cost, with long‑term results that ripple through families, schools and communities.
We’re not just saving money, we’re saving lives, futures, and entire communities.

Why Our Work Matters
A smarter, more compassionate solution to youth crime and re‑offending
Youth detention drains budgets and futures. Here’s the cost – and how change Ready 2 Change delivers.
$1 billion +
spent every year imprisoning Australian children
$3,320 per day
to lock up just one child. That’s $1.12m per year
84.5 %
of young people released from detention re-offend within 12 months
$16.8 million
saved every year by supporting just 15–20 high-risk youth instead of detaining them.
Zero
government dollars required—we’re donor powered.
And that’s before you count the hundreds more students we reach through our school based programs, NDIS mentoring and behaviour support services.
Breaking the Cycle Through Education & Employment
When young people are given the tools to learn, earn, and dream, they don’t just change their future, they break the cycle. We do this through:
- Education re‑engagement – helping youth complete Year 10, Year 12, or a passion‑led course.
- Employment mentoring – resumes, work experience, vocational pathways, and advocacy into trades or jobs of choice.
- Entrepreneurship – some graduates start their own businesses; others return to mentor the next generation.
- This is how we reduce re-offending.
- This is how we keep youth out of jail.
- This is how we build safer communities.

Schools & Educators
We bring our curriculum-aligned RRAW and I Am G.R.E.A.T. wellbeing programs straight to your classroom – or host them off-site—then back them up with teacher and parent resources that tackle bullying, consent, resilience and more.
Government, Councils & Funding Bodies
We deliver evidence-based initiatives with clear KPIs for crime reduction, school re-engagement and mental-health uplift, complete with data collection and reporting that tick every grant box and drive whole-community change.
Parents & Carers
We provide affordable, trusted mentoring and respite for kids facing violence, self-harm or trauma – staffed by qualified professionals, guided by transparent processes and supported by ongoing parent check-ins.
NDIS Clients & Co-ordinators
We tailor one-to-one mentoring and respite to each plan, from after-school pickups to 24-hour care, supporting young people with autism, ADHD, GDD, trauma or behavioural challenges to smash their goals.
Corporate Sponsors & Donors
We offer Bronze-to-Platinum sponsorships with DGR tax receipts, quarterly impact updates and brand shout-outs on uniforms, events and socials – so your support shines while young lives change.
Volunteers & Staff
We onboard you with trauma-informed training and WWCC checks, then open pathways to mentoring, event support and paid youth-work roles – so you grow while helping others grow.
Mt Druitt Lions Baseball Club
We run a safe, inclusive club where sport doubles as mentorship – providing low-cost gear, a family vibe and leadership opportunities for players ready to give back.

From Street Struggles to Youth Mentor. This is Chris’ Journey.
“I want to help kids like me”
Once headed for the same jail cell as his brother, teenage Chris was caught in fights, gangs and school suspensions. Then Ready 2 Change stepped in with one-to-one mentoring, leadership training and team sport.
Today he has finished Year 12, studying Youth Work at TAFE and coaching the next generation as a Big Brother Mentor. Chris didn’t just change his own life – he’s changing dozens more.
